Time is important, so call us right away. Pick up your tooth by the crown, avoiding the root whenever possible. If it's dirty, rinse it gently with water without scrubbing it. If you can, place the tooth back into the socket. If not, keep it in milk and bring it with you to your appointment.
Gently rinse your mouth with warm water and save any broken pieces if you can find them. Applying a cold compress to the outside of your face can help reduce swelling while you make your way to our practice.
Take time to rinse your mouth with warm salt water and carefully floss around your sore tooth to remove any food that may be trapped. Avoid placing aspirin directly on your gums, as it can burn the tissue. If the pain continues, contact Prairie Creek Dental as soon as possible.
If you still have your crown or filling, bring it with you to your emergency appointment. In the meantime, try not to chew on that side of your mouth until we can repair or replace the restoration and protect your tooth underneath.
